Thursday, June 14 - Welcome Reception

All conference registrants are invited to the Welcome Reception, which takes place in the Hydro Quebéc Atrium at HEC Montréal immediately following Serena Ng's plenary lecture.  Mingle with colleagues and friends while partaking in hosted bars and sumptuous hors d'oeuvres.  The reception will conclude early enough for you to enjoy a night on the town to explore Montréal's hundreds of notable restaurants, quaint bistros, and lively brew pubs and nightclubs.

Friday, June 15 - Conference Banquet

The conference banquet will provide an elegant opportunity to socialize with your fellow attendees and enjoy gourmet cuisine amidst the charming history of Montreal.  We will also continue the SCE tradition of announcing the winners of the graduate student paper competition at the banquet.

The banquet is an optional event and guests are welcome.  The evening will begin with a drink and hors d'oeuvres, followed by a 4-course dinner with wine.  We hope you will join us.  Simply add the number of tickets you desire in the banquet space on the registration form.

The site will be the historic Club Mount Stephen, located in the heart of downtown Montreal in an area that was once the wealthiest residential neighborhood in Canada, known as the Square Mile.  It is one of the last intact mansions of the area and one of the most beautiful examples of late Victorian domestic architecture in North America.  Built in 1880 as a private home for George Stephen, co-founder and first President of the Canadian Pacific Railway, the home was sold in 1926 and threatened with destruction.  Later that year a private business club for men was founded to protect this architectural marvel. The founders gave it the name of Club Mount Stephen in memory of its first owner.  The club celebrated its 80th anniversary in 2006.  It has welcomed many famous visitors since its founding including diplomats, royalty and Hollywood stars and has appeared in many period movies.
